Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a significant global outage on Saturday evening, marking the second major disruption within 24 hours. Users worldwide, including those in India, reported issues accessing the platform via both the mobile app and desktop website. Many encountered error messages such as

“Something went wrong. Try reloading,” along with persistent loading screens and blank timelines .

According to Downdetector, user complaints began to surge around 6:00 PM IST, with over 2,000 reports logged within minutes . This follows a previous outage that began late Friday night, which the company attributed to a data center failure. Reports suggest that a fire at a data center in Hillsboro, Oregon, leased by X, was responsible for the earlier disruption .
Despite the recurrence of issues, X has not released an official statement regarding the latest outage. The platform’s engineering team had previously acknowledged the data center incident but has remained silent on the subsequent disruptions.

Users have taken to other social media platforms to express their frustration, with hashtags like #XDown and #TwitterDown trending globally. As of now, there is no estimated time for full restoration of services.

This series of outages raises concerns about the platform’s infrastructure and reliability, especially given its role as a primary communication tool for individuals, businesses, and governments worldwide.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
